Emergency Break Is Ready To Blow Up The World!

**Interviewer:** Welcome, Leo! It's great to have you here today. How are you doing?
**Leo Gerchen:** I'm good, thanks! Just busy with everything going on with the band.
**Interviewer:** It sounds like a lot is happening! Let’s dive right in. What first got you into music?
**Leo Gerchen:** Well, it all started when I began attending live concerts with my friends. I just fell in love with the energy and atmosphere of gigs. Eventually, I thought, "Why not give it a go myself?" That's how my passion for music really took off.
**Interviewer:** and we are glad that happened! So how did Emergency Break come to be?
**Leo Gerchen:** Originally, we used the name for a production company where we made fan-made music videos for bands like Arctic Monkeys. Then one day we decided to take things further and form a band under that name.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned Arctic Monkeys; who else would you say inspires your music today?
**Leo Gerchen:** There are so many influences! Bands like Shame and Idles have had a huge impact on us musically and performance-wise. We also draw inspiration from newer artists who were once small but are now making waves in the industry. London has a very competitive music scene. They always have.
**Interviewer:** How do you describe your sound? Is there any particular genre you're leaning towards?
**Leo Gerchen:** We aim to create our own unique sound by blending various influences rather than sticking strictly to one genre. Each song might remind someone of different bands depending on their style.
**Interviewer:** Can you tell me about your creative process when writing songs?
**Leo Gerchen:** Our creative process varies from song to song. Sometimes it starts with an idea or feeling I want to express; other times it's sparked by something Joe or James brings to the table musically. It’s very collaborative!
**Interviewer:** Do you have someone in the band that stands out as a musical genius?
**Leo Gerchen:** Definitely Joe, our lead guitarist—he's incredibly talented and could probably handle everything if he cloned himself!
**Interviewer:** And how old are all of you guys?
**Leo Gerchen:** We're all pretty young—19 and 20 years old!
**Interviewer: **That’s impressive at such an early age! If given the chance, which artist would you love to open for?
**Leo Gerchen: **I’d say Idles or Soft Play would be amazing choices for us!
**Interviewer: **Both are terrific live bands! That would be a great fit with Emergency Break’s sound and energy.
If not music, what do you think you'd be doing right now?
**Leo Gerchen: **I’ve always wanted to be an airline pilot—it fascinates me!
**Interviewer: **That's quite different from being in a band! How has social media impacted your journey as musicians?
**Leonard Gerchen: *It's been both beneficial and challenging—anyone can release music now which is great but also means there's more competition than ever before.*
*The landscape has changed dramatically over time; reputation matters more because everything is documented online.*
*It feels like there was more freedom back then compared to today's environment where everyone is conscious of their image.*
*But it's also led us toward creating meaningful connections through our work.*
*We’re trying hard not just look back at past generations but carve out our own voice too.*
*It can feel overwhelming sometimes though!*
**Interviewer: **What advice have people given that resonates most with your journey so far?*
**Leonard Gerchen: *Some key words include “You’re only as good as your last gig” or “Keep momentum going.” Those phrases keep us grounded while pushing forward creatively.*
*Playing every show like it could be our last has really shifted how we approach performances.*
*And maintaining momentum helps ensure we're always juggling projects effectively without losing sight of anything important!*
**Interviewer: ** So what’s next on the horizon for Emergency Break?*
**Leonard Gerchen: *We’ve got some exciting releases coming up—a new single dropping soon followed by another track tied into an EP this summer!*
*Plus big shows lined up including headlining at Omeara which will mark quite an achievement since we've come such a long way since starting out together!*
*We're thrilled about festival season too—lots planned ahead!
